Daylight Savings Time

In the quiet,
In the waking at eight and nine and ten,
When we are briefly both awake but not speaking;

In these mornings that swell buds high on the street
With late winter winds, with torrents of water,

We become the other’s cocoon.
My little back shields your broad speckled one,
And you are there in my dreams and before me.
