Point A to B

As fearsome as it is
To realize while driving
What a thin metal skin
Separates you from the road,
The wind, and the oncoming exit
Of your own death –

This is how it is when you are born
And you find fragments of centuries have passed,
That you will become someone unrecognizable
To your own eyes.

And you travel from point A to B -
You go, and you go on.
